Hard rock, alternative rock, pop rock and punk rock are just a few of the numerous sub-genres of rock music. Although this style of music was first introduced during the later half of 1960’s, it is still very much enjoyed even today.

Hard rock music relies on musical instruments like guitars, bass, drums and sometimes even pianos and violins. This sub-genre is comparatively a faster and louder version of rock music. Some of the famous hard rock bands include prominent names such as Deep Purple, Bon Jovi and Cream. The 1990’s saw the emergence of ‘grunge’ hard rock by bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.
